Valkiir WarAxe

The war axe is the backbone of the Valkiir fleet swift, well armed and agile the ship operates in wolf pack style groups striking swiftly at exposed formations and harassing larger Formations with its heavy spinal mount rail gun, missiles and torpedoes.
The Valkiir focus on fast fluid tactics and strike and fade attacks counters the raw power of larger ships and exploits the sluggish nature of dreadnoughts and Battle ships. When operating in concert with strike ships, assault frigates, and destroyers the Valkiir wolf packs can hit the enemy, inflict serious damage to their capital ships and, jump back into hyperspace before the enemy can counter the attacks.
If attacked the ship is well armed with pop up turrets, that mount both light point defense guns and heavier secondary batteries for engaging destroyers, corvettes and other picket ships as it makes it's attack run.

Notes
The wing like structures are part of the ships Vectored Force Control System. mounted along the spars are numerous Compression Nodes. these nodes allow the ship to pitch yaw, or rotate in multiple directions as well as assist the ships main drives in acceleration and breaking. By moving the VFCS nodes away from the ships center of mass the nodes gain extra leverage increasing their efficiency.
The variable position main "wing" provides not only attitude control but a large portion of the ships thrust as well by reorienting the position of the spar the ships drives can be altered from high speed dash mode to close in combat maneuver mode.
