Tactical Intervention Carbine

"Tactical Intervention" a very nice way to say doing nasty things to people you really do not like with agreat deal of sneakiness, suprise,and ruthlessness involved.


Based on the basic concept and same ammunition as the AS VAL rifle the R-4 is a light weight purpose built tactical intervention rifle with a fully integrated suppressor system permanently affixed to the weapon. it is manufactured from light weight non magnetic alloys, and advanced synthetics to give it all environment reliability, resist corrosion and operate in dirty environments without an increased chance of malfunction.

the 9x39mm round has twice the terminal energy of a conventional 9x19mm subsonic round with satisfactory armor penetration abilities. The weapon is extremely quiet when fired allowing for greater tactical surprise in most situations.

TO decrease its sound signature and increase accuracy the weapon can be manually set to fire from a locked breech. in this  mode the recoil mechanism is disconnected and the weapon must be manually cycled after each shot. A selector on the underside of the weapon can be quickly reset to allow the weapon to fire normally allowing rapid transition from precise single shot engagement to rapid  automatic and burst fire mode.

The barrel is rifled in such a way as to cause the round to have an exaggerated tendency to tumble on impact. When coupled with the airspace at the tip of a standard 9x39mm the round delivers its energy to the target rapidly with little chance of over penetration. this tends to magnify the rounds lethality at most ranges over a conventional rifling system.

The weapon is fitted with fully adjustable iron sights set into, and protected by the sight rail but it is most effective when using low magnification night vision capable optics for precise targeting in most lighting conditions.
