Description

M-7 Bragg MBT

Developed and manufactured in anticipation of Invasion the  brag  is a heavy well armored highly mobile Main Battle Tank intended to blunt the onslaught of the Najuhlim Zealots in response to the warnings  delivered by Mohljaniir Survivors fleeing the genocidal  Zealots. The M-7 was able to withstand superior numbers of more"advanced" Zealot armor despite the limited numbers available to defense forces at the time of the arrival and systematic  bombardment by the First wave of Zealot assault forces.

A large number of  M-7s were destroyed in the initial battles in Africa and South America. But once the imitations of the  Zealot military were fully understood the M-7 soon proved to be more than a match for Zealot armor.By the time of the final assaults on the Continental American States the  M-7 was capable of facing six to one odds with an impressive kill to loss ratio.

Once Reinforced and supplemented by the larger M-3 the M-7 became the terror of any zealot forces it engaged. Using its high acceleration cross country mobility and advanced command and coordination systems the M-7 outmaneuvered and out fought any force it encountered.

While not as heavily armored as the M-3 the M-7 had superior acceleration a lower profile and superior maneuverability. Often moving to flank the heavier Valkiir armor to encircle and isolate Zealot vehicles destroying  them from he flanks and rear as the M-3s plowed head long into enemy formations.

A series of continuous upgrades and  improvements kept theM-7 in service for decades before newer armored vehicles and a change in tactics  made the ground bound tank unsuitable for regular military service. It continues  to be  seen in Irregular forces local militias, and corporate armed forces but not is not a common sight outside of parades and displays at military museums.

The M-7 was originally powered by a 1500 horsepower gas turbine engine Among the first supplies to be delivered by relief forces were specially engineered Quantum Resonance reactors that were especially modified to  fit into the M-7s engine spaces. Due to the design of the M-7 the existing power plants were removed and the new off world power train installed in a mater of hours.

once the gas turbine engines were replaced with compact reactors the M-7s limited range no longer hampered its operations and allowed it to move with the Offworld armor without the need for a lengthy train of fuel carriers trailing the formation.

this however exposed one reason for the larger size of the Off world armor. the crews could become fatigued and exhausted in the smaller more cramped turrets of the  M-7. once the fighting moved into area where vehicle were required to drive for  several days to reach the front lines and  crew would spend days if not weeks on the move the effect of the claustrophobic turret was noticible.was noticeable.

After the Defeat of the Zealots the M-7 found itself tasked with an unusual role. The design allowed for the tank it to act as a mobile power station with  the addition of a distribution hub to the back deck of the tank. After the war tanks that were not needed for active patrol, or were damaged during  fighting were used as power plants at assistance camps and refugee colonies around the world.

Many of these vehicle remain in place even if they are no longer functional and many towns and cities have chosen to create small memorials or parks around these vehicles leading to almost every post war town or city having at least one M-7 setting near its city center. recently the TAE designated funds to have these vehicles refurbished and restored to operational condition to act as emergency power stations.

It should be noted that these restorations include the  combat and communications equipment allowing them to be used by local forces if the need ever arose.
