Tie Dominator

The TIE Dominator is another design created shortly before the death of Emperor Palpatine. It's purpose was long range strikes against rebel, and criminal bases, and starships. The Dominator is unusual for a TIE series fighter. It mounts a hyperdrive, and powerful turbo lasers that Can inflict heavy damage on small starships,favored by rebels, smugglers, and pirates. It's potent twin cannon were also powerful enough to quickly drop ray shielding,  and reduce an X-wing to burning debris.

The Dominator shared many of the same systems as the vindicator, but the extra power draw from its shields and weapons coupled with it's greater mass made the Dominator a good deal less agile than smaller fighters.In addition its shielding was optimized for forward, and rear defense leaving the Dominator vulnerable to lateral attacks by defending fighters, and ground fire.

Like the Vindicator the Dominator and several other projects were hampered by delays, and technical difficulties, most likely the result of rebel sabotage, which left the fighter incomplete at the time of the emporers death. However six dominators were completed, but were subsequently lost when the storage facility was raided by mercenaries, and criminal thugs. The location f the operational fighters, and the mercenaries who stole them is unknown but they were last reported operating on the outer rim.
