The Quetzl are a race descended from Human/Saurian laborers and body guards who politely informed their creator/masters to get lost.
as a result of their non O'sahdii controlled creation and evolution the Quetzl have access to highly advanced technology, which in spite of their slowed technological advancement ( compared to Humans) allows them to maintain an edge on thier more numerous cousins, and enemies.
The sudden appearance of a Quetzl battle group has quelled inter human, and outside incursions, on numerous occasions as the somewhat isolationist race moves to keep their "rowdy kid brothers" out of trouble.

I cheat, a lot.
I start by finding a shape i like, then create smaller or larger variations..Then decide what I am going to use them for 
It take a while and fills my recycle bin with many many pieces of junk. oce I find a fw common pieces I can use them in other designs. or keep a general shape or profile.
