Deity Class Heavy Battleship ( New Pattern)

Designed for gunnery and direct fire operation the New pattern warships dispense with an integrated fighter compliment devoting the resulting free space to shield, armor and extra crew accommodations provisions.

Unlike older battleships and Dreadnoughts the Deity class Ships are designed for long duration patrols, and deep strike long term offensive operations. When escorted by newer carriers and cruisers the Deity class is capable of rapid strikes deep into enemy controlled regions without the long supply trail of "old Pattern" Battleships

The Deity class Is fitted with enhanced sensors, electronic countermeasures and new high performance drives. Lacking the powerful secondary batteries and close in guns of older ships the design is more reliant on it's screening ships, and fighters.
The large drives, advanced vector control thrusters, and more balanced distribution of mass allows the ship to rotate along any axis with much greater speed and precision. coupled with the addition of external flex-mounted Large bore Mass drivers the cone of engagement for the Deity class is the widest of any Super heavy combat ship.
Able to engage targets with heavy fire even when the target is not directly ahead of the ship, the Deity class can fire it's main guns at targets normal safe from spinal mounted weapons. this makes the ship far more secure from lateral attacks from cruisers and battle cruisers and if employed correctly can even discourage rapid attack runs by destroyers.

At this time the Deity class of warships consists of six ships. The Kali, Athena, Isis, Sekhmet, Freyja, and Victoria

Six more are slated for construction by TAE combined fleet
Mixcoatl,Odin, Hachiman, Anhur,Hanuman, and Guan Yu



and four are scheduled for construction By the Valkiir Home fleet.

The Tau Imperium Has no plans to Build it's own Deity class warships at this time but the decision on future battleship/dreadnought construction has not been finalized at this time.

In addition to the Fleet construction One independent colony (Thunderhead) Has began construction on the Kraken. It is a much more advanced model featuring extensive AI assist, and multiple mobile gun platform control systems. these systems were rejected by other Fleets due to the high cost and extensive developmental problems in the mobile gun development program.

Recent leaks form unconfirmed sources indicate the Thunderhead vessel may in fact be AI controlled with a small human crew aboard only as supervisors for the AI systems. Thunderhead Officials have refused to comment on any of these rumors pointing out the ship hasn't even been built yet any speculation as to it's capabilities, and control systems are just that speculation.

It is also speculated that the Thunderhead Project may in fact be a TAE/Valkiir/Corporate funded test bed for next generation warship technology, which is not expected to actually be commissioned or fully implemented into the remote and Isolated colony's already impressive self defense fleet.
